R.I.P. Billy Casper

Three time golf major winner Billy Casper passed away today at the age of 83. Casper had a successful career, winning the 1966 U.S. Open, the 1959 U.S. Open and the Masters in 1970. He claimed 51 victories on the PGA Tour, ranking him number 7 on the career list, just behind greats such as Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.

Congratulations Rory!

Rory McIlroy took the trophy at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic at the weekend.

McIlroy averaged the longest in the field at 317.9 yards, his mantle being the longest in the Desert! McIlroy managed to hit 83.3% of Greens in Regulation (GiR) – the fifth most successful in the category over the course of the week. His birdie chances were converted and his razor sharp putting gave him an average of 1.676 putts per GiR, 15th best in the field!

McIlroy’s performance left him an amazing average of 66.5 shots per rounds, better than his nearest competitor Alex Noran!
