MacWet’s sport stars keep their grip on success!

31 Aug

MacWet’s sponsored sport stars have been continuing their brilliant successes.  At just 15 years old, Amber Hill has decided to change her discipline to Olympic Skeet.  She really is proving to be one of Great Britain’s brightest shooting stars, ranking number one in England and number two in Great Britain already! Her talent seems to know no bounds and everyone at MacWet is really excited to see what she can do over the next few years.  Rio’s 2016 Olympic games can’t come quickly enough, but in the meantime Amber could potentially be competing in a string of international events and, of course, there are Commonwealth Games to look forward to.

But the excitement doesn’t stop with Amber! MacWet star Becky Bream has won a place on the Ladies FITASC team.  She joined the team for the FITASC world championship in Chicago, Illinois.  Becky loved the opportunity to represent her country at this international event and her place on the team was secured after receiving a bronze medal at the British grand prix FITASC sporting clay shooting championship here in the UK.

Graham Evans has also seen great success on the Senior Circuit and the Paramotor team are currently taking part in an exciting tournament in Spain.

Team GB Secure Dramatic Showjumping Gold!

7 Aug

Team GB have secured a dramatic showjumping gold after a Jump-Off with the Netherlands at GreenwichPark yesterday.

Locked at the top after two days of exceptional riding, the team showjumping was decided in the sport’s penalty shoot-out equivalent between Holland and GB.

Nick Skelton led the team in fine style, producing an absolutely faultless round in good pace when it mattered the most. The rest of the team followed, with Ben Maher and Scott Brash knocking down just one fence between them.

Meanwhile, Dutch errors left the door open for GB to go one better than the silver medal won by their eventing counterparts earlier in the competition. It came down to Peter Charles at the end of the event, who secured another faultless run for Great Britain to take a memorable Showjumping gold.

There are more medal hopes this afternoon for Team GB in the equestrian, as Carl Hester, Charlotte Dujardin and Laura Bechtolsheimer go for gold in the dressage.

MacWet wish all of the Team GB riders the very best for continued success!

Team Showjumping

6 Aug

After a sensational weekend for Britishsport with medal success coming thick and fast in the velodrome, the track and field, the gymnasium and Wimbledon, among other places, it is time for the Equestrian to take centre stage again as the Team Gb show jumpers go for gold. With Germany having failed to qualify, Team GB stand a realprospectfor taking a second Equestrian medal of the games, however they will need to overcome Saudi Arabia, who currently sit in first place.

Starrider Nick Skelton will lead the team out first in the event, which gets underway at 2pm on Monday and one things for sure, the team at MacWet will be cheering our British riders on.

Olympics Day Seven

3 Aug

It has been another great day at the Olympics for Team GB, with more gold medals and a magnificent performance from Victoria Pendleton to make up for yesterday’s disappointment with a sensational gold medal-winning performance in the keirin.

It was also an exceptional GB performance in the equestrian, where Charlotte Dujardin moved Britain into a gold medal position in the team Dressage. Scoring an Olympic record on board her horse Valegro, the 26 year old has placed GB in a fantastic opportunity for gold.

Everyone at MacWet wishes all of Team Gb all the best for further success.

Double trap shooting gold for GB star Peter Wilson!

2 Aug

Peter Wilson has won Britain’s fourth gold medal of the London Olympics after victory in the double trap competition today. The 25-year-old from Dorset finished two shots clear of Sweden’s Hakan Dahlby. A shoot-off will decide third. Wilson had finished the qualifying stage three shots clear and held off Dahlby’s challenge to seal gold.

Everyone at MacWet is delighted for Team GB’s success in shooting, which should see the sport gain some of the spotlight and recognition it deserves. Suitable for all shooting disciplines, MacWet’s advanced gloves really are ideal for shooting thanks to their ‘all grip and no slip’ technology.

The first of their kind on the shooting glove market, MacWet gloves are made from a uniquely responsive fabric which automatically adjusts to the climate to maintain maximum comfort, sensitivity and feel at all times. With an unrivalled grip, the high quality, high performance gloves have a superb fit for maximum control across all weather conditions.

The medal is Britain’s first Olympic shooting medal since Richard Faulds triumphed in Sydney 12 years ago.

Wilson came into the event at the Royal Artillery Barracks as world record holder and world number two and was the youngest man in the final.

Olympics Day Six

2 Aug

The Team Dressage event promises to be one to remember as the GB team prepare for their event.  The team will comprise of Laura Bechtolscheimer, Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester.  Everyone at MacWet is crossing their fingers for another excellent Team GB result.  The event begins on Thursday 2nd August at Greenwich Park, with the competition starting at 11.00 and running until 15.30.  Friday 3rd sees a second day of this equestrian team event.  We hope that the Dressage team can go all the way following the Eventing Team’s silver medal victory earlier in the week!

Their is also exciting action in the shooting on Thursday 2nd August, the action kicking off with the men’s double trap and the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol at the Royal Artillery Barracks.  The shooting starts at 9.00 and will run until 15.40 as the day finishes with the men’s Double Trap final.  Peter Wilson is one of the Team GB competitors for the Double Trap event.  He is currently ranked second and will enter the event as one of the favourites for gold.  Hopefully he will prove to be another medal winner for Great Britain.  Tea, GB member Richard Faulds is also hoping for a medal win.

Good luck from MacWet to all of Team GB’s competitors in these fantastic events!

MacWet Help Team GB to Second Olympic Silver Medal

1 Aug

Great Britain won their second Olympic Silver Medal of the games as Team GB finished second behind Germany in the Team Eventing.

Zara Phillips was again wearing her MacWets as she performed in the Showjumping event, both team and individual, on Tuesday. After an impressive result in the Cross Country, Great Britain went into the show-jumping event in second place, with a real chance of securing the gold medal. However, after Phillips and Nicola Wilson had a fence down in a thrilling finish on Tuesday, it was Germany who emerged victorious, with New   Zealand in third place.

Designed with the rider in mind, MacWet have developed a technologically advanced glove which really is ‘all grip and no slip’. In use in over 35 different sports worldwide, many of which are in the Olympics schedule, MacWet are proud to support British Olympics achievement, and there is no better way of summing this up than with the Team GB eventing silver medal, which increases Great Britain’s medal tally to 4 so far in the games. Other Olympic disciplines where MacWet gloves are used include Shooting, Archery, Canoeing, Sailing and many more.

When performance really counts, choose MacWet. Everyone at MacWet Gloves is delighted to wish the whole of Team GB good luck for the London Olympics
