Shooting enthusiast Graham Thompson reviews MacWet gloves!

26 Jun

Shooting enthusiast, Graham Thompson recently tested MacWet gloves out and it seems he was more than happy with the gloves, so much so he got the MacWet logo sewed to his polo shirt and shooting vest!

Check out his review below:

“MacWet gloves are fantastic. I shot great with them today and even had the MacWet logo sewed onto my polo shirt and shooting vest. I would be lost without them in many ways. As soon as I put them on I forget they are even there as they are so comfy! Thank you MacWet for making my life easier”

Another fantastic recommendation from Tomahawk Throwing Association UK

25 Jun

Fantastic news….we have received another great recommendation from John Taylor the organiser of the Knife, Axe, Tomahawk Throwing Association UK. The organisation provides a safe environment to throw knifes and axes and has recently expanded into 14 throwing lanes.

Image

Read John’s fantastic review below:

Especially in inclement weather your gloves are great as they have a very positive grip on the knives that we throw. Without a positive grip the release of the knife is very poor and accuracy drops dramatically. I am recommending your gloves to all the throwers that I know especially those with poor grips due to health problems.

National Cycling Week Review

21 Jun

Image

National cycling week commenced this week and we were so pleased when Caroline from Fille De La Ville asked us if she could test out our ‘all grip, no slip’ gloves for her cycling week feature.

It seems that she was more than happy with the gloves. Read here full review below:

“If you’ve already established that you like the cycling, and you know you want to carry on, then these are the gloves you need. I own the Micromesh long gloves in black. The Micromesh gloves are developed for warmer weather, and they aid circulation and air flow around the hand – great for if you’re cycling on a really hot day. They’re also amazing for wet conditions (many water sport enthusiasts wear them). If you’re looking for a winter pair, the website offers a wide range of lined gloves for the winter months, too. Zara Phillips has even been seen sporting these gloves. Now, if that’s not an advert for a good pair of sports gloves, I don’t know what is”

MacWet Sponsor Metropolitan Police Clay Target Club

20 Jun

Image

Leading up to one of the UK’s largest multi-discipline shooting events, MacWet will be supporting the Metropolitan Police Clay Target Club again in 2013.

Forming in 1970, the club was known as the ‘Met Police Clay Shooting Club’ and was founded by a small group of officers. Wishing to come together and compete in a sport they loved, the club was born. Over the years, as founding members have come and gone, the club’s name changed to ‘Metropolitan Police Clay Target Club’ and has grown to become a large-scale and fantastic target club.

Membership of the club incorporates active and retired officers and police staff. Shooting abilities range amongst members, showcasing rookies to established members who represent their county, country or are in the Great Britain Police Shooting Team!

The Club trains and teaches all members and is active in the summer and winter months. Members shoot in 3 disciplines: English Sporting, English Skeet and Down the Line.

Members train towards competing in inter-force and national competitions, as well as the mother of events, the UK’s largest multi-discipline-shooting event, the PSUK (Police Sport UK) National Championships in September.

Holding their own event each year, the 2013 event will be held at the West London Shooting School, one of the most premier shooting grounds in the country. Hosting a raffle, the Club raise money for the Air Ambulance Service and Macwet will once again be sponsoring the charity raffle. The event draws large numbers of entries and 2013 will be no exception.

MacWet gloves are the perfect accessory to any sporting enthusiast’s kit and we are delighted to be sponsoring this event and its raffle. Enabling to keep the event fun and interesting, we are thrilled our contribution helps the police force of the UK train and compete in national events, as well as raise money for the Air Ambulance Service.

Our MacWet gloves would be the perfect addition to any shooters kit to give them an ‘all grip, no slip’ control that would create the perfect conditions needed to be at the top of the game, in all weather conditions. With MacWet by their side, we are sure club members would make it to the PSUK National Championship this September!

Onwards and Upwards for Abbi with MacWet!

13 Jun

Fabulous news! We are delighted to deliver the news that Abbi Tennant, one of our sponsored riders for endurance racing won a fantastic event at the weekend!

Abbi and her horse, Barik, won the 80km CER at Three Rivers on Sunday 9th June.

Abbi was elated and commented:

“We completed the race at 18.18kph and clocked the last loop at about 26kph!

Image

There had been three of us leading the race the entire day: Carri Ann Dark, Lauren Mills and I. Carri Ann left the vet gate 40 seconds ahead of me but I managed to catch her up. For a while we rode along together. But nearing the venue Barik and I started to pull away. He really does have a turn of speed and we flew into 1st place.

I’m so proud of his achievements. But it’s onwards and upwards from here with our first 160km FEI at the start of July.”

Abbi and Barik are showing no signs of slowing down and are heading up to the bonny land of Scotland this weekend (15-16 June) to compete in the 120km FEI on a horse called Eskar, who is owned by Kirsty Wiscombe.

With her ‘all grip, no slip’ MacWet gloves, Abbi can focus on being at the top of her game without having to worry about losing control over Barik.

“I’m continually using the Micromesh gloves in all my competitions; they are light enough that I can feel the double reins through them and [they] also grip well. Barik is a strong horse so I need to be in firm control of him [otherwise] he will ‘tank off’.”

We are delighted to hear the success of Abbi and Barik and hope our MacWet gloves will bring them more success at the weekend and beyond!

Thrill Dad this Father’s Day with a pair of MacWet Gloves!

11 Jun

MacWet Father's Day3

As dad will probably know, most gloves create a negative impact on his movements, and he’d probably prefer to risk cold hands and the chance of a lack of grip rather than wearing a pair of gloves that causes him to lose all sensitivity. However, make dad’s day this Father’s Day with a pair of our MacWet gloves. Perfect for almost anything dad can think to use them for, our MacWet gloves act as a ‘second skin’ for wearers and ensure sensitivity and dexterity is not compromised when he might need extra grip or gloves that will keep his hands warm and dry.

Whatever dad’s hobby may be, we have the perfect glove for him. Faultless for any hobby that requires strong grip whether it is golf, shooting, fishing, polo or sailing, with our MacWet gloves the possibilities are endless. The vast range of sizes means dad can finally have a pair of gloves that fit like a second skin. MacWet fit the hand like they were made exclusively for their wearer with a fitting guide that steers clear of the usual small, medium and large sizes. This skin tight fit allows for fine adjustments of equipment without the need to remove the gloves; perfect for everyday use and under pressure while playing sports.

With two products, MacWet caters for the spring and summer months as well as the cooler autumnal and winter months, covering every need dad could have in a simple and easy manner. MacWet gloves ensure hands are at their peak whatever the conditions.

The Micromesh gloves use unique technology that mimics ideal grip conditions during warmer months. Keeping hands dry is imperative to a successful and steady grip. With a technology that helps to aid the circulation of airflow around the hand, and the unique Aquatec fabric which responds to the presence of moisture, Micromesh gloves keeps hands dry all day long.

For those cooler days, Climatec gloves are essential for keeping warm while maintaining grip in any conditions. These gloves ensure they cover all needs for keeping warm outside whilst maintaining maximum sensitivity and grip. Long gone are the days of heading home due to not being able to feel fingers; fleeced lined, wind-proof and water resistant, there are no longer any obstacles preventing him enjoying his hobbies when the colder days are here.

MacWet gloves, with their ‘all grip, no slip’ control will be the ideal addition to dad’s kit and will be a gift he will appreciate and wear constantly.
